Australia Zoo is famous not only for its astounding conservation work, amazing mammals, reptiles and birds but also for the fact that its home to the late Steve Irwin the legendary crocodile hunter. Opened by his parents back in 1970, the Zoo has grown to enormous strengths, with their love of animals being celebrated by himself and his family. Currently with around 1000 animals and several prestigious awards to its name, including Major Tourist Attraction Australian Tourism Awards 2003-2004, makes Australia Zoo a must do attraction.
