This spectacular mountain, once known as One Tree Hill due to the single eucalypt tree sat at the top, is by far the best place to get the most sensational views of the curvaceous river and the stunning skyline of Brisbane. Mount Coot rests at over 280 metres above sea level and has taken its name from the Aborigines, who trekked up the mountain for the honey produced by the resident stingless bee. When you step onto the observation deck, the landscape is second to none, with views of the shimmering city in the midday sun or dancing lights in the night-time sky. Why not have a bite to eat at the Summit Restaurant, feasting on the fine Mediterranean and Asian influenced food, whilst sipping a charming glass of Shiraz. With superb views and fine dining makes this one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Brisbane. |
