Australia Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856)

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) is a permanent residency Visa for foreign nationals. This Visa allows Australian employers to sponsor employees to live and work in Australia on a permanent Visa.

Three methods to obtain the Employer Nomination Scheme Visa:

  • You must have worked full time, on a temporary residence Visa in Australia, for the 24 months prior to this Visa application being lodged. The last year must have been with the employer whom is nominating you or
  • You must have a minimum of 3 years full-time work experience in the occupation and have had the relevant skills assessing authority deem your skills as suitable for this Visa application or
  • You have been nominated to take the position of a senior executive; with a salary in excess of AUD$165,000 per annum (excludes allowances/superannuation).

The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) takes between 4-6 months from the date of lodgment; however these timings are subject to change and act as a guide only. This Visa takes precedence on the on the processing file and allows dependant family members to be added to your application.

Eligibility for the Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856)

  • In addition to the above criteria for obtaining the Visa, you must also have received an eligible employment offer for a permanent job for a minimum period of 3 years.
  • You must have a career which is on the ENSOL (Employer Nomination Scheme Occupation List).
  • A training plan must have been set by your employer.
  • Your qualifications/training is applicable to the position being nominated.
  • The minimum salary for the Employer Nomination Scheme is AUD $45,220 or AUD$61,920 for computer specialists. You must meet the salary criteria. Please note that any benefit in kind has to be excluded from the salaries stated.
  • Any professional membership requirements/registration/mandatory licensing which permit you to work unsupervised/without additional training must be met.
  • You must be below the age of 45 years old.
  • Your job offer/contract must be presented with your signature and that of your employers.
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) of 6 +
