The Business Short Visa ensures you can stay in Australia on a short term basis for business purposes. This includes business or educational meetings, networking or informal studies, a seminar, conference or convention.

Once granted, your Business Short Visa allows you to visit Australia for a maximum of 3 months, on any one trip to Australia within a 12 month timescale (this is from the date the visa is granted or for the life of the passport for those expiring in less than 12 months)

To qualify for a Business Short Visa you must hold a valid ETA passport and apply for the Visa outside of Australia.

* Holders of Taiwan passports can only be processed for an ETA if resident in and applying in Taiwan. Applications can be placed with an approved ETA Travel Agent in Taiwan or Australian Visa Services office in Taipei. ** Holders of UK passports which indicate their nationality to be British National (Overseas) (BNO) can be processed for an ETA if applying via a travel agent, airline, or at an office of the department. BNO passport holders cannot apply for their ETA online.

You will not receive a stamp or label in your passport, instead an ETA electronically stores the authority for you to travel to Australia and is linked to the passport number in which you applied for your Visa with.

Applicants must be outside Australia to apply.
You are permitted multiple stays of up to 3 months over the 12 month validity period.
You must have no criminal convictions.
You must be in good health.
Short term work is only permitted in strictly limited circumstances.
You must have a minimum of 6 months validity on your passport.

Note. If you change your passport before travelling to Australia you will need to reapply for a new ETA. Your ETA Visa is electronically attached to your current passport and can not be transferred.

How long is my Australia Business Short Visa ETA valid for?

If the Business Short Visa is granted it is valid for 12 months; (from your date of application or until your passport expiry date – whichever is sooner). Any single visit to Australia must not exceed 3 months. You are allowed multiple entries to Australia within the 12 months on this Visa.

How long does it take after I have submitted the Visa application?

We aim to process your ETA Visa immediately upon your submission of the ETA application form. The majority of cases will receive confirmation of their Visa within 1 business day or sooner. (Business days are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, excluding UK Bank Holidays). However in some instances the processing will take up to 3 business days.

What happens when applications are not approved?

In a majority of cases ETA Visas are approved sometimes an ETA Visa application is referred by the Australian Government, to the Australian High Commission. In this situation you should allow an additional 5 working day period of wait for referred ETA application

Can I use my credit card to pay for the ETA Visa application?

Yes, you are able to use: MasterCard, Paypal, Visa, Maestro, JCB and Solo. Once you have completed the application you will be directed to RBS WorldPay to make the transaction securely online.
